Red Barn Community Farm
2013 Garden Plot Program
Volunteers of America, in coordination with the City of Everett and Transition Port Gardner, a non-profit grass-roots community organization, is happy offer garden plots again for the second year.
The area consists of 10 acres of prime river bottom farm land. This land is within the 100-year flood plain which does carry some risk but also means that it is naturally very fertile and will require little or no summer watering. About half the land will be used as a Foodbank Farm (TM) to benefit the Everett Food Bank. This area will be worked by vounteers from Volunteers of America.
Most of the garden plots have been assigned. A few plots may become available as more areas dry out or if some plts are not worked. Get your application in now to get on our waiting list.
